BAF Is Back For 2014 And We’re Looking For Your Submissions

Following last year’s amazing selection of films for BAF 2013, we’re very excited to announce that we’re doing it all over again with the festival taking place from 17 – 22 November 2014! It only seems like yesterday that we were handing out Osgoods for the best in show at BAF 2013 with prizes awarded to an international selection of films.

We’re now ready to find the best animated films of 2014 and by submitting your film you could be one of the lucky recipients of a coveted Osgood. Submissions  are now open and we’re looking forward to seeing your films. The closing date is Friday 18 July and you can submit your films for BAF 2014 submissions page.

Why should you submit your film to BAF?

Bradford Animation Festival is the UK’s longest running animation festival, and regularly attracts over 800 delegates from all over the UK and Europe. This is a brilliant opportunity to showcase your film to key industry figures, and a chance to get it seen by a public audience. You’ll also be in the running for one of our coveted Osgood Awards which were named by the legendary Ray Harryhausen.

Which film categories do we accept submissions?

We accept animated short film submissions in the following categories: Professional Films, Student Films, Music Videos, Commercials, Short/Shorts (under 4 minutes in duration), Films for Children and Films by Young Animators.

What do we look for when making a selection for BAF?

Once we receive your submission, it will be viewed by our selection panel and judged on its originality, technical execution and aesthetic appeal. We’ll also consider what you set out to achieve, and whether this translates to the film. Ultimately, would others want to watch it?

Sounds good? Excellent! Now here’s how to submit your film

For more information on the submission process and what you need to do between now and Friday 19th July, visit the submissions page on the Bradford Animation Festival website.

In the meantime…

We’re currently working on this year’s programme and look forward to revealing more information in the coming months, with tickets and passeson sale in September 2014. This year promises to be an even bigger, even better and even BAF-er celebration of all things animation and the ever popular BAF Game.
