Can you spot yourself in these photos of Bradford City FC from our collection?

Between now and the Capital One Cup Final, we’ll be sharing Eamonn McCabe and Ian Beesley’s photographs of Bradford City from our archives, and asking you to share your memories of the matches for our Bantams gallery.

The countdown to the Capital One Cup Final has well and truly begun. Between now and the big day on Sunday 24 February 2013, we’ll be sharing images of Bradford City fans and their beloved Bantams, as photographed by Eamonn McCabe and Ian Beesley during the last 25 years.

We want to know—are you or your family and friends in these photographs? Were you at any of the games? Are you that young mascot on the pitch? Did you attend Bradford City soccer school? Tell us your Bradford City stories, and we’ll feature them in a future blog post.

We’re also inviting you to add your own photographs to our Bradford City Flickr group, and they may be selected to appear in our café in the run-up to match day.

  2. Hello, I’m the shouty kid with my Dad in the Bradford v Ipswich picture from the 1987/88 “nearly” season. I remember it as a very tense match that we lost 3-2 to miss out on an automatic promotion place to the old Division 1. We went on to play Middlesbrough in the play-offs, beating them 2-1 at home but losing 2-0 in the return leg. I didn’t go to the away game but saw on Grandstand that we’d missed out on promotion. It was a heartbreaking season to be a City supporter (especially as an 11 year old). I went to a few games the following season but then lost touch with City and football for many years.

I remember the photographer setting the camera up in front of us and we thought that it was strange that it was not pointed at the match. After initially smiling and waving we just forgot the camera was there and watched the game. Some weeks later it was in the paper and I heard about the exhibition at the Museum, they were even selling a postcard with us on for a few years!

I have rekindled my love of Bradford City for the past 3 seasons and try to get to every home game and a few away every year. The Arsenal and Villa victories will now live long in my memory and I’ll be there at Wembley shouting the team on with the best of them!
