Ray Harryhausen acquisition update

After the sad news of Ray Harryhausen's death, we give an update on our plans to acquire and house the Harryhausen Collection.

The following statement was issued at 10.00 on Friday 17 January 2014.

The Ray & Diana Harryhausen Foundation and the National Media Museum regret to announce that plans to lodge the Ray Harryhausen Collection on long term loan at the Museum in Bradford will not now be pursued.

It has been mutually agreed between the Foundation and the Museum that the Collection will remain under the control and direct management of the Foundation. Having worked together to begin the task of archiving Ray’s collection and preserving his legacy, both organisations are committed to maintaining a close relationship covering advice and mutual support, as well as cooperation on projects and exhibitions for the future.

It is also expected that certain items from the Collection will be on display at the National Media Museum or the Science Museum in London on a regular basis.
